Behavior Modification

Behavior Consulting

Reactivity • Aggression • Frustration • Hyper-arousal • Fear, Anxiety, and Stress-related Behavior Concerns

We provide Behavior Consulting for dogs experiencing more complex behavior concerns.

Our goal is to help you better understand what’s driving your dog’s behavior and develop a clear, realistic plan for moving forward.

Board & Train Program

Our Board and Train Program offers a more immersive level of support for dogs needing a structured environment to begin or accelerate progress.

Because long-term success depends on what happens at home, this program also includes one-on-one transfer sessions with the family to help ensure skills carry over into the dog’s everyday environment.

During their stay, dogs are immersed in a carefully curated setting designed to support learning, reduce stress, and set them up for success.

Apex Canine accepts only one dog at a time into our Board and Train program. Each dog is provided their own private kennel space to allow for appropriate rest, decompression, and individualized care.

We also offer low-stress boarding options for DINOS (Dogs In Need of Space).

Due to extremely limited availability, and because we only accept one dog at a time, booking well in advance is strongly recommended, especially for travel-related needs.

Behavior Consulting Sessions

hese sessions are designed for dogs experiencing reactivity, aggression, frustration, hyper-arousal, fear, anxiety, and other fear, anxiety, and stress-related behavior concerns.

Your initial consultation is a longer session where we take the time to review your dog’s full history, identify contributing factors, and begin building a clear plan for moving forward.

Together, we will:

  • Review behavior history and current concerns
  • Identify patterns, triggers, and contributing factors
  • Discuss what may be driving the behavior
  • Develop a practical, individualized plan tailored to your dog and your household

Follow-up sessions focus on:

  • Building new skills and behaviors
  • Adjusting your environment to support progress
  • Reducing rehearsal of unwanted behavior patterns
  • Supporting implementation and troubleshooting in real life

Because every case is different, recommendations for ongoing support will be based on your dog’s individual needs and your goals.

Virtual Services

Not local? We can still help.

Virtual services allow us to provide Behavior Consulting remotely and can be an effective option for both local and out-of-area clients.

This format can be used as a standalone service or alongside in-person support, depending on what is most appropriate for the case.

Investment & Payment Options

Initial Consultation: $299

This is not a standard training session.

This appointment is a comprehensive intake, case review, and strategy session designed to build the foundation for your dog’s entire behavior plan.

During your consultation (90–120 minutes), we will:

  • Review your dog’s full behavioral and life history
  • Identify patterns, triggers, and contributing factors
  • Discuss what may be driving the behavior
  • Begin outlining a clear, practical plan for moving forward

In addition to the time spent during the session itself, a significant portion of the consultation process happens outside of the appointment, including:

  • Reviewing your intake form and case history in advance
  • Assessing behavioral patterns and contributing factors
  • Developing your initial treatment strategy
  • Preparing your written behavior report and recommendations
  • Providing individualized resources and next-step guidance

This consultation is designed to give you clarity, direction, and a structured starting point, rather than just information in the moment.

Because behavior cases are often nuanced and highly individualized, this process is designed to ensure that recommendations are thoughtful, appropriate, and tailored specifically to your dog and your household

Most clients who move forward with ongoing Behavior Consulting can expect to invest starting at $1,050, with more comprehensive support options available depending on the services selected.

We understand that behavior support can be a significant investment, and we never want finances to be the sole barrier to getting appropriate help.

Payment plan options are available and we are happy to work with you to find a structure that feels manageable.

Financial Support: The Pavarotti Project

In some cases, support may also be available through the Pavarotti Project, an initiative created to help expand access to qualified behavior support for dogs and families facing more significant behavioral challenges or financial barriers.

This support is offered on a limited, case-by-case basis, with priority given to situations where appropriate intervention may help prevent further deterioration, rehoming, or loss of placement.

Important Notes

Behavior Consulting programs are designed as structured support services, not isolated one-off sessions.

Behavior Consulting is a collaborative process, and progress depends heavily on factors such as consistency, follow-through, management, environment, and staying reasonably current with assigned homework and implementation between sessions.

Because behavior cases are highly individualized and influenced by many variables, specific results cannot be guaranteed.

Consultation fees, reserved appointment time, and prepaid service packages are non-refundable.

Additional support, review, or custom materials requested outside of what is included in your selected services may be billed separately where applicable.

Full policies, service terms, and client agreement details will be reviewed prior to the start of services.
